Santa Domenica, a Scorrano si fa festa con luci e suggestioni. Ed Emma Marrone

Cinque giorni per festeggiare la santa della luce, santa Domenica. Si tiene in questi giorni, e fino al 10 luglio, la festa patronale di Scorrano, tra luminarie meravigliose che tutto il mondo apprezza, tra cui la favolosa Tour Eiffel realizzata dalla ditta De Cagna, che campeggia quest’anno in piazza Vittorio Emanuele. Accanto alle luminarie, che romperanno tutte le idee prospettiche del paese formando nuove strade temporanee di luce, sarà rinnovata anche un’altra importante tradizione, quella della gara pirotecnica, negli ultimi anni arricchita da uno spettacolo piromusicale. Si è iniziato oggi con il pranzo della vigilia, aperto a forestieri, parenti e amici, con la preparazione del castrato e delle polpette di patate, ma il clou religioso-tradizionale si raggiunge il 6 luglio con la processione per le strade della città con il simulacro della santa. Tra gli eventi che caratterizzeranno maggiormente quest’edizione c’è il concerto, l’8 luglio, di Emma Marrone, che allieterà tutti con la sua splendida voce. La festa di santa Domenica rappresenta per Scorrano non soltanto un fatto di sentitissima devozione, ma una grande vetrina per le attività produttive, in particolare per le ditte di luminarie, che girano tutto il mondo, periodicamente, per diffondere la propria arte di luce. La festa patronale, infatti, richiama molti turisti da tutta Italia: un’occasione unica, per il Salento, per dimostrare di possedere non solo, come vuole il luogo comune, sole, mare, vento.
